Welcome to Brackenhurst Sport and Recreation Club, a friendly, community-focused club in the heart of Brackenhurst, Alberton.
Established in 1986, and affectionately known by our members as “Our Happy Place”, we have grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant home for approximately 180 members.
Whether you are a seasoned competitive bowler, a social player, or someone who has never picked up a bowl before, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
More than just bowls
For almost 40 years, Brackenhurst has been at the centre of bowls in Ekurhuleni. We are an active member of Ekurhuleni Bowls and Bowls South Africa, and a proud host venue for major tournaments including the Perfect Delivery Gauteng Open.
Off the greens, we are a true community club. From bingo fundraisers to outreach projects, we believe in friendship, fun and giving back.
New to bowls?
No equipment? No problem. We offer free coaching by qualified coaches who will teach you the basics, provide bowls to try, and pair you with experienced players to get you started.
Pop in for a roll-up — we’d love to show you around Our Happy Place.
